critical reflection on the viewer‘s own body image. Textiles influ-
ence our perception of the body and shape our identity. In this
work, the body motifs fade into the background or merge with
the fabric. The individual parts of this work evoke a feeling of
nakedness and concealment at the same time.
This body of work was first hung in a bundle on a pole, with the
hanging resembling a wall calendar. The viewer had the freedom
to choose their own combination of motifs. Our aim was to ena-
ble the viewer to interact more intensively and to involve them
more closely, and in view of the omnipresent body norms and
definitions in our society that influence our identity.
The work was then exhibited in a group exhibition at the Kunst-
halle Luzern in autumn 2022. A mural with all the 90 individual
pieces was exhibited as a complete work of art without the the
possibility to be touched by the public it functioned in a static
way.
